Norden Films

Mitchell and Kenyon were film makers at the turn of the 20century. They were film pioneers and filmed actualities in the North of England. They also filmed several important historical events.

They are credited with filmimg Queen Victoria's funeral. Mitchel filmed in London. Kenyon filmed scenes at Windsor castle. I believe this is the footage often seen in documentary movies about Victorian and Edwardian times.

Movie footage of Queen Victoria's funeral can be seen on the Pathe web site.    http://www.britishpathe.com/

They also filmed fictional stories about current events. Their Boer War movies were filmed in the countryside around Blackburn. This is the best known example of their story films.
